Cultivate Costa Rica
Immersion 2026
THE ORACLE & THE SWORD
Yi Jing Divination & Wudang Sword Immersion Training
Tamarindo, Costa Rica
December 7-11, 2026
Learn the powerful 6 line method of Yi Jing Divination as you learn and refine the Wudang Chunyang 7 Star Sword form in Costa Rica.

Open to beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Participants will learn basics and more advanced skills of health-related divination through the ancient Yi Jing Book of Changes in the afternoon and embody the Daoist path of cultivation through Seven Star Sword training in the morning. This five-day immersion is designed to give you a glimpse into the wisdom of Wudang’s Five Immortals Temple, from where these practices originate and have been passed on in an unbroken line for 25 generations.
Learn all of this only a 5-6 hour direct flight from major North American airports in the beachside forests of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. We will practice Qigong & Meditation daily on our 5-acre property that contains housing and training spaces, as well as gardens & wooded trails filled with indigenous and Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs and foods. Come and learn these authentic Daoist Arts & experience the community and culture behind them at a location specifically curated for their transmission.
The week’s activities will take place at Cultivate, Costa Rica. Located on the edges of acres of pristine forests and only a 20 minute drive from 6 world class beaches, our 5 acre property is mostly forest and cultivated to promote a connection to these Daoist Arts, to nature & to one’s own spirit. And yet, only an hour and a half from a major international airport (LIR) or 10 minutes from a domestic one (TNO). You can read more about Cultivate’s Mission here.
Meet Johan Hausen
Johan Hausen has a martial arts background which eventually brought him to the Five Immortals Temple in China’s Wudang Mountains where he spent more than 5 years under the tutelage of Li Shifu.
There he studied a variety of subjects including Tai Ji, longevity exercises, Dao Yin (guiding and leading of Qi), alchemy, swordsmanship, martial arts, Feng Shui, Yi Jing (The Book of Changes) divination, Daoist healing, and entered into the 24th generation of the Dragon Gate lineage of Daoism.
Johan has been studying the Yi jing since 2008 and the Six-Lines Method since 2015 with the abbot of Five Immortals Temple, Li Shifu. While the Six-Lines can be applied for many different aspects, Johan deeply studied it in regards to healing and removing illness, since the physical body is the most valuable possession on earth, as Li Shifu reiterates.
Johan currently works as a Chinese Medicine practitioner, TaiJi (Tai Chi) and Qigong teacher in a psychosomatic clinic near Cologne, Germany. He also co-founded Purple Cloud Press with the mission statement to preserve the ancient knowledge of China, especially in regards to medicine, martial arts and philosophy.
